Eastern Himalayan Region Trekking

Eastern Himalayan Region Trekking in East Nepal Region includes an eastern approach to Everest, Rolwalng, the Makalu Base camp and the Kanchenjunga. The eastern region of Nepal is remote. So, it is not so popular like other region (Annpurna, Langtang, Everest) but this region have endless variety of places to explore, hiking climbing and village excursion tour. East Nepal region have the ethnic cast like Rai, Tamang, Sherpa, Limbu etc having their own culture. The places like Basantapur, Dhankuta, Hile, Khandbari and Bhojpur are prosperous and clean. This area is also famous for tea growing area, Ilam tea is famous in Nepal and India belongs to this region. To make trips to eastern mountains, either domestic flight or long journey by bus is necessary. The main domestic airports are Tumlingtar, Lamidada and Taplejung which have direct connection with Katmandu.

    Kanchenjunga is third biggest peak of the world. The Kanchenjunga is situated in the Eastern frontier between Nepal and India. It is 8586mt. high. This region was opened for trekking tourism only in 1988. The trekking in this area is relatively strenuous since the region is regarded as the most remote place of Nepal.
